This outfit's email address appears to be broken (it bounced), and signing up for the mailing list just gave me a server error. I wouldn't care, but have spent all evening trying to install this stuff only to end up with a compilation error.

hopefully you can figure out that you need to reverse that

Well, the email still bounces, as of yesterday!
The gory details are below, ... no email user found.
Your reply form does not seem to like email addresses, but the mail account was ggobi-help and
so I had to edit the error message, adding spaces.

And, ... the difficulty seemed to be related to
other out-of-date documentation for Macintosh/*nix.

My problem was simply that the documented downloads for Macintosh 10.3 were not there,
and when I guessed some existing downloads,
I ended up with a long make
with a missing object, RGtk. Or misplace RGtk.h?
No clue.

The make problem was ...

I like the new movies - it is easy to simply mail this page's address to those interested in using it.

I would like to see more comprehensive tutorials that exercised many of the features together.

Thanks
Ron

Bob: oops, yes, that email address was broken! Is fixed now. Unfortunately we don't have a mac running 10.3 to test the install process, but I think you need to install RGtk first (http://www.omegahat.org/RGtk/). If that doesn't work send an email to ggobi-help@lists.ggobi.org and someone should be able to help you.

Ron: are there any features in particular you would like to see? We're currently working on getting a short demo for all the basics, and then we'll try to put together case studies that explore a data set using multiple techniques.

Thanks for the changes, the pages now look nice. I have sometimes problems with identification of the current ggobi version - could the install file(s) include the version number? I am personally using compiled Win installer, the file named in the style "ggobi_0104.exe" would be helpful. BTW, the date of release is probably obsolete (I suspect that the current version has been released later than Jul 26, 2004).
